'Armed And Dangerous' Man Sought In Marietta Fatal Shooting: Police

Marietta Police say they are seeking the whereabouts of an accused shooter who should be considered armed and dangerous.

MARIETTA, GA — Police are seeking an accused gunman in connection with the fatal shooting of a 58-year-old man Monday evening in the 10 block of Ridge Run, Marietta Police said Tuesday.

Officers responded to a "heated domestic dispute" between a stepfather and his stepson around 6:30 p.m., police said.

While the officers were heading to the scene, police said they received reports of gunfire.

When they arrived, police said they found Michael Jackson suffering from gunshot wounds inside the apartment. He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he died, police said.

Detectives are searching for suspect Pharron Carlos Banks, 26, who fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

Marietta Police say Pharron Banks, the 26-year-old accused gunman in a fatal shooting Monday in the 10 block of Ridge Run, should be considered armed and dangerous, police say.

They issued a be-on-the-lookout for Banks, whose vacant black Nissan Rogue was recovered at John Hope Drive in Atlanta and was returned to Marietta for processing, police said.

Banks should be considered armed and dangerous, police said. They described Banks as 6-foot-5-inches tall and said he weighs about 160 pounds.

Warrants have been issued to charge Banks with homicide-murder, aggravated assault weapon and third-degree cruelty to child, police said.
