Citywide Reading Effort Kicks Off Saturday In Marietta

Marietta Reads! is an effort between Marietta city schools, parents, partners and community to promote literacy to our children.

MARIETTA, GA — Marietta Reads! A citywide effort between Marietta city schools, parents, partners and community to promote literacy among children kicks off this weekend. The 17th annual kickoff event will be held Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm at 50 N. Park Square in Marietta.

Marietta Reads! encourages Marietta city schools students to read more, read better, and read widely. This year marks the 17th annual kick-off event for Marietta Reads! on the historic Marietta Square.

Performances from Marietta schools groups, crafting, face painting, storytelling, balloon artists, and appearances by literary and partner mascots are scheduled. Superintendent Dr. Grant Rivera will kick off the event.
