The city school system's nutrition department will offer free, pre-packaged breakfasts and lunches to every student during Thursday's dismissal, school officials said.

“Our mission is to care for every student during any time,” Nutrition Dir. Cindy Culver said in the release. “We know that for many of our students, school meals are a critical part of their daily routine—and sometimes the only nutritious source. We’re proud to offer these balanced meals so no child goes hungry if they’re stuck at home due to the weather.”
Cobb County government offices will shut down Friday and Saturday, including parks and libraries. County officials said libraries are expected to regularly operate Sunday.
Cobb County Chief Judge Gregory Poole ordered the closing of the county courthouse Friday, excluding the Cobb Magistrate Court, which will continue its around-the-clock operations.
County officials said the courthouse will reopen normally on Monday.
