Cobb, Marietta School Schedules Set After GA's Winter Storm
School officials in Cobb County and Marietta have decided whether or not to open campuses on Wednesday as wintry weather lingers in GA.
MARIETTA, GA — Schools in Cobb County and Marietta will open two hours late on Wednesday, a day after a southern winter storm brought freezing temperatures and snow to Georgia.

School officials said the decision was made after conversations with weather, transportation and emergency management officials.
The Cobb County School District did not release further details.

Marietta City
Marietta schools will open exactly two hours later than normal start times, Marietta City Schools Superintendent Grant Rivera said in a letter sent to families. Patch has obtained a copy of the letter.
Schools will end at their normal dismissal times. School officials advised bus riders to remain indoors or in a car until their bus arrives, which will follow the two-hour delay.

The Before School Program will open at 8:30 a.m., and after-school activities will resumed as scheduled, Rivera said.
"Thanks for your continued patience and grace – we are hopeful this approach gives our students the opportunity to safely return to some sense of normalcy," Rivera said in the letter.
