Community School Supply Drive: New Donations Needed

KIDS CARE & the Cobb County Police Department are collecting new backpacks and school supplies for Cobb County students in need. In the past three years, our "Backing the Need" program, has delivered 1,374 new backpacks with supplies to local Cobb County students in need.

Once again, we are asking for the local community to shine their compassion and support at us to supplement this program. New School Supply Donations Needed Now - July 20th.

Please drop in-Kind donations off at:

• All 5 Cobb County Police Precincts + Headquarters (8 am - 4 pm)
• At local businesses hosting a drop box (see below)
• The Cobb Civic Center July 20th, 9 am - 1 pm. (plus enjoy added fun, see below)

Donations are delivered to local nonprofits who will distribute the donations to Cobb County students in need. Donations will go to: Ser Familia, Communities in Schools, The Center for Family Resources, The Center for Children and Young Adults, Simple Needs of GA, the Cool Kids Committee and LiveSafe Resources.

Your donations not only benefits students in need, it helps lessen the financial burden placed on teacher's to purchase supplies out of pocket & creates a community service day for families to volunteer and pack backpacks.

BRING YOUR NEW DONATIONS ON JULY 20TH, 9 am - 1 pm, TO THE COBB COUNTY CIVIC CENTER, FOR SOME ADDED FUN & RECYCLING.

• Meet Rose, Cobb County's Comfort Dog, & her handler Angela Thorne.
• Take a look inside a Cobb County Police Patrol Unit and meet an Officer.
• Play Minigolf: One full bag of NEW donations will gain you FREE ADMISSION to the Cobb Civic Center's homemade minigolf course (good for up to a family of four). Come check it out for a little relaxing fun in the AC!
• Keep Cobb Beautiful will be on site to collect cans, flattened cardboard, plastic & glass bottles, cartons and Hefty Renewal plastics. ALL ALUMINIUM CANS DONATED WILL HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY.
