Head-On Crash Kills Driver, Injures 3 In Marietta
Police have identified the driver killed in a head-on crash near a Marietta intersection.
MARIETTA, GA — An Illinois man was killed in a head-on crash Saturday in Marietta, police say.
The crash happened around 6:45 a.m. at Powder Springs Street near Laurel Springs Lane, Marietta Police said Saturday.
A Mableton resident was driving a 2007 Lexus RX350 north on Powder Springs near its intersection with Laurel Springs, police said.

Santiago Zarate-Vicente, 32, of Chicago, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado south on Powder Springs, police said.
The Lexus crossed lanes for an unknown reason and hit the Silverado head-on, extensively damaging both vehicles, police said.

Zarate-Vicente died of injuries sustained in the crash, police said. The driver of the Lexus and two passengers in the Silverado suffered injuries that were not life threatening and were taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, police said.
No charges were issued as of Saturday, pending the outcome of the investigation, police said.
