Here's GA's Best Diner, National Food Outlet Says

MARIETTA, GA — "Since 1995, the Marietta Diner has offered 24-hour-a-day deliciousness," the restaurant's website boasts. A national food website argues that it provides the best food in Georgia.

LoveFood.Com has named the Marietta Diner outside Atlanta as the best diner in the state.

"Marietta Diner, just northwest of Atlanta, is the type of place people tend to return to time and again (or, if they live out of state, wish they could visit every weekend)," a recent review said. "The huge menu runs the gluttonous gamut from breakfast classics like eggs Benedict to sandwiches, burgers, and Greek dishes (reflecting the owner’s heritage). The desserts, particularly the baklava cheesecake, are irresistible."

Breakfast is served 24 hours a day and fare includes corned beef hash with eggs, country fried steak and eggs, egg sandwiches, a range of omelettes with different ingredients (western style, pesto or greek are just some of the choices), plus pancakes, waffles and french toast.

The diner offers huge burgers, such as the Pastrami Smash Burger, which consists of a half-pound Angus burger patty, grilled pastrami, onions, mushrooms and 1000 island dressing; or the Tennessee Burger, which is a half-pound Angus burger topped with fried pickles, light spicy Jack Daniels glaze and melted American cheese.

The lengthy menu includes dinner staples like roast turkey, broiled seafood, chicken parmigiana, and more. Desserts range from red velvet cake to tiramisu and cheesecake varieties.
