- According to the Cobb County Police Department, officers are investigating a hit-and-run incident involving a moped that occurred on Saturday, Aug. 26. Luis Alfonso Dominquez Cervantes, a 31-year-old from Marietta, was driving his moped on Smyrna Powder Springs Road when a vehicle turned left in front of him. The moped overturned, and the vehicle drove over both Cervantes and the moped before leaving the scene. Cervantes was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Anyone with information is asked to contact 770-499-3987. (Cobb County Courier)
- Construction is set to start on Tuesday, Sep. 5 on a sinkhole that opened up on Spring Hill Parkway near Cumberland Boulevard. Cobb County Communications Director Ross Cavitt explained that a large metal pipe that carried water under Spring Hill Road failed, and crews are making plans to replace the single pipe with a three-pipe system. Construction could take three or four weeks, which is longer than originally anticipated. (WSB Radio)
- The Cobb County Board of Elections & Registration has announced an event for National Voter Registration Day coming up on Tuesday, Sep. 19. The Voter Registration Drive will take place from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Attendees will be able to register to vote, get voter identification cards, and submit requests for absentee ballots. Oct. 10 is the last day to register to vote for the Municipal General Election on Nov. 7. (CobbCounty.org)

- Atlanta-based brewery Round Trip Brewing has announced a new location is coming to Marietta next spring. Round Trip at Avenue East Cobb will offer menu items like hot pretzels, brats, and vegetarian options as well as several different types of beer. (Eater Atlanta)
- There will not be trash service in the city of Marietta on Monday, Sep. 4. in observance of Labor Day. You can download the Trash Talk app to stay up to date on changes to trash pick-up services. (City of Marietta, Ga., Government via Facebook)
- If you're planning to attend Marietta Art in the Park, there will be free parking available at Marietta City Hall, Marietta Community Development, and the Marietta Housing Authority.
