I-75 N Remains Congested After Marietta Crash
The crash involved a tractor-trailer Friday on Interstate 75 near the North Loop.
MARIETTA, GA — After a crash involving a tractor-trailer had all northbound lanes blocked early Friday afternoon on Interstate 75 near the North Loop, state transportation officials said the lanes have been cleared.
Police said in an early afternoon Nixle alert that the crash was between the off ramp from I-75 onto the North Loop, and the ramp leaving the loop back onto I-75 north.
"Due to the size and nature of the accident, the interstate may remain blocked for an extended period of time. Crews are already en route to begin directing traffic and clearing the lanes," police said in the earlier alert.

Northbound traffic was re-routed off of the interstate, across North Marietta Parkway and back onto the entrance ramp to avoid the blocked lanes, police said.
Since then, the state transportation system, GA-511, said all lanes have been cleared though congestion remained around 3:40 p.m. Drivers are asked to use alternative routes.
