ICYMI: 2 Marietta Drug Dealers Get Nearly Decade-Long Prison Terms: DA

MARIETTA, GA -- Two Marietta men have been sentenced for gun offenses and drug trafficking, North Georgia's U.S. Attorney Office announced recently. Kyle Matthew Nixon and Eric Eugene Gamez sold drugs, including cocaine and heroin,U.S. Attorney John Horn said.

Horn said that the duo have been taken off the street for the good of surrounding neighbors in Cobb County and metro Atlanta. “Their actions disregarded the safety of our community, but swift action by law enforcement kept them from causing further harm.”

Gamez, 27, also of Marietta was sentenced Sept.14 to nine years, nine months in prison, Horn said. After his prison term, Gamez will be on supervised release for five years.

Nixon, 26, was sentenced to eight years in prison with five years of supervised release after that. He was sentenced in July.

“The success of this investigation is a result of the collaborative efforts of ATF and our local partners,” said ATF Special Agent in Charge Wayne Dixie. “ATF will continue to dedicate federal resources in conjunction with the crucial contributions of local agencies towards the eradication illegal drug and firearm activity.”
