Late Marietta Student's Legacy Honored Through Scholarship
Liv Teverino, a Marietta High junior, was killed in a crash Monday near Burnt Hickory Road and Devonwood Trail.
MARIETTA, GA — Marietta City Schools is honoring one of its students killed this week in a crash with a scholarship fund.
Liv Teverino, a junior at Marietta High School, was killed in the crash around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Burnt Hickory Road near Devonwood Trail after her car crashed into a tree and caught fire, Marietta Police previously said.
Contributions are being collected for the "Live Like Liv" scholarship, school officials said in a news release. The fund was established to honor Teverino's excellence, leadership and compassion, school officials said.

"Liv embodied the spirit of Marietta High in every way,” MHS Principal Marvin Crumbs said in the release. “Her dedication, passion and kindness were evident in every endeavor she undertook. She will always be remembered as a beacon of hope and inspiration for our students."
Teverino was a member of the International Baccalaureate program and the cross-country team. She earned a spot in the 2023 Cobb Youth Leadership cohort.

"Liv was a true leader and role model within our community,” MCS Superintendent Dr. Grant Rivera said in the release. “She made a profound impression on everyone she met – her peers and teachers, and anyone fortunate enough to know her."
Scholarship details and eligibility requirements will be determined at a later date. Anyone interested in contributing can do so through the Marietta Schools Foundation.
Checks can be addressed to The Marietta Schools Foundation, with “Liv Teverino” in the memo field, and mailed to 144 Polk St., Marietta, GA 30064, school officials said.
"With this scholarship, the Marietta Schools Foundation strives to ensure that her legacy continues to inspire future Marietta High School graduates," the release said.
