MARIETTA, GA — Marietta residents may see a bit of familiarity on their TV screens this holiday season.

Movie crews were filming Wednesday afternoon at the Marietta Square for a Christmas movie airing on Lifetime in December, executive producer Tracy "Twinkie" Byrd told The Marietta Daily Journal. Christmas decorations were adorned across shop windows, portions of West Park Square and in Glover Park.

Three Marietta businesses are being used in the filming, according to The MDJ: Lizards & Lollipopz, Rhinos and Rhinestonez, and Piastra Italian Cuisine. The real names of the shops will be kept in the film, rather than covered with fake ones as it's been done in the past.

Byrd did not disclose the film's title or stars, but city officials said it's called "Gospel Christmas." More information should be available Sept. 15, Byrd told The MDJ.

Filming wrapped up around 1 a.m., but crews will be back at Glover Park Thursday afternoon for more filming. Set decorations will be taken down Friday morning.
