Man Threw Coins, Pointed Gun At Taxicab Driver In Marietta: Police
When the taxicab driver tried to confront the man, police say the man pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at the driver.

MARIETTA, GA — A man is facing weapons and assault charges after being accused of refusing to pay for a taxicab ride, pulling out a gun and pointing it at the driver.
Marietta Police said the incident took place around midnight Sunday at the intersection of Carolyn Street and Wallace Road.
A customer identified as Jevelious Bryant, 40, of Marietta, hired a taxicab driver to take him from South Marietta Parkway to Carolyn, police said.

When they arrived at Carolyn, police said Bryant threw a handful of coins at the driver, left the cab and refused to pay for the ride.
The driver got out of the cab and tried to confront Bryant; however, police said Bryant pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at the driver. Police said the driver then ran away and hid.

Bryant was accused of then going into a single family home where multiple individual apartments were located.
Officers tried to get Bryant to answer the door but were unsuccessful, police said. Around 5 a.m., SWAT officers were called to the scene to serve a search warrant and take Bryant into custody.
Everyone who lived in the apartments followed SWAT instructions and exited by 7:30 a.m., police said.
Bryant was arrested on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, simple battery, theft of services, marijuana less than an ounce and aggravated assault weapon, police said. He was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, police said.
