- At a meeting on Tuesday, Sep. 12, the Marietta City School Board passed a new directive for how the district will review books in school libraries and determine if they should be removed due to sexually explicit content. The new policy will be in addition to existing policies that allow parents to issue complaints about books and creates a process for the district to assess books based on state rules. The meeting was attended by community members and parents who both supported and opposed the district's decision. (WSBTV)
- A map with proposed new political boundaries for city wards has been released by the City of Marietta. The map, titled "Proposed Wards School and Parks Draft Option 2," will be discussed at an upcoming public hearing on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The public hearing will be held at Marietta City Hall at 7:00 p.m. Residents are invited to attend and share feedback on the map, which can be viewed at the link.
