- This Labor Day Weekend, the long-running "Marietta Art in the Park" festival returns, bringing together some of the region’s top fine artists and highlighting the downtown area’s restaurants and shops. Running each day this weekend from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in and around the Historic Marietta Square, this year's artist market will include the work of 175 artists, making everything from painting and pottery to jewelry and woodworking. The festival has been a metro Atlanta staple since 1986 and draws more than 50,000 guests each year. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- A.L. Burruss Elementary School has started a new initiativethis school year to place crisis response dogs in schools to help de-escalate school children in crisis. Barney could assist with simple temper tantrums to a student that’s destroying a room, to de-escalating yelling and screaming. (11Alive.com WXIA)
