Update: Church Street Reopens After Flooding In Marietta

Police said Sunday afternoon that part of Church Street in Marietta was back open after flooding closed it earlier.

MARIETTA, GA -- Police in Marietta sent an advisory Sunday afternoon saying that a major thoroughfare in the city was reopened after being closed to flooding. Earlier in the day, authorities shut down Church Street northbound between Vann Street and Church Street exit because of rising water.

The remnants of Hurricane Nate hovered over metro Atlanta on Sunday, bringing rain for most of the day. The system is projected to sweep across the region Monday.
