COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County officials want to hear from residents on how to invest in transportation infrastructure for the next 30 years, and is hosting a series of in-person and virtual town halls to gather input.
Cobb County last completed a comprehensive transportation plan in 2015, and much has changed since then. The county's population has increased, and transportation needs and opinions have shifted along with it — so the county wants to hear from residents on what needs to change as far as transportation goes.
The county is launching CobbForward, or another name for its comprehensive transportation plan for 2050.

"Feedback and participation will help shape the future of transportation investments in Cobb for the next 30 years," a Cobb County press release said.
CobbForward is gathering public input on a series of surface transportation and transit projects, such as pedestrian, bicycle and trail projects. Cobb Department of Transportation staff and its partner, Kimley-Horn, will host three virtual town halls:

- Tuesday, May 11: 5-6:30 p.m.
- Saturday, May 15: 9-11:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, May 19: 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Residents can also ask questions by emailing cobbforward@cobbcounty.org and participate in an online survey on the comprehensive transportation plan for 2050 here.
Additionally, the Cobb County Board of Commissioners is hosting a series of in-person town halls on DOT-related activities in each district. Here's the schedule for each commissioner:

- Wednesday, May 12: 6-7:30 p.m.
- Cobb County Civic Center, 548 S. Marietta Parkway, Marietta
District 4 Commissioner Monique Sheffield
- Wednesday, May 19: 6:30-8 p.m.
- Cobb County Public Safety Police Training Academy, 2435 East-West Connector, Austell
