Sunday Crime Spree In Cobb Lands Two Armed Suspects In Jail

The suspects were nabbed less than an hour after their first alleged robbery was reported to police.

MARIETTA, GA — Two Alabama men were arrested Sunday afternoon in Cobb County, suspects that local police described as armed and dangerous. Quatreion Hughes, 19, of Torey, Alabama, and Raiquon Anderson, 21, of Huntsville Alabama, both face multiple felony charges, including attempted armed robbery and hijacking motor vehicle.

On Sunday at 2:50 pm, the the Red Latina Check Cashing business on Cobb Parkway South called 911 to report two men with guns just attempted a robbery. Five minutes later, a delivery driver for the Marietta Wings & More restaurant reported its business had just been robbed. The driver reported two suspects assaulted him and took his vehicle and belongings.

Dispatchers then began circulating the details among Marietta, Cobb and Smyrna police officers. Shortly after 3 pm, a housekeeper working at the Sleep Inn on Powers Ferry Place reported two young men were walking around with handguns. Just before 3:15 pm, police arrived at the hotel and confirmed the two suspects at the hotel match the descriptions given from the earlier robberies.

Marietta and Cobb police established a perimeter around the hotel and took both suspects into custody. The process of clearing the entire hotel took almost an hour.
