Suspect In Fatal Fentanyl Overdose In Marietta Arrested
Police say they have arrested a person accused of dealing fentanyl to a man, resulting in his death in Marietta.
MARIETTA, GA — A year after a man died from a fentanyl overdose in Marietta, police say the person accused of dealing the drug to him is facing manslaughter charges.
Marietta Police on Wednesday said Grant Hall, 27, of Marietta, was arrested about a month ago in connection with the fatal overdose of Tyler Hass, 27, of Jasper.
Officers were dispatched around 10 p.m., Sept. 1, 2024, to a possible overdose in the 1200 block of Powder Springs Street, police said. Hass was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The investigation into his death spanned multiple law-enforcement agencies, both local and statewide, police said.
Ultimately, Hall was arrested on charges of aggravated involuntary manslaughter for fentanyl overdose death, police said. He is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, police said.

"While nothing can bring their loved one back, hopefully the family and friends of Tyler Hass can find peace knowing the drug dealer that supplied him fentanyl is behind bars, charged with his death," police said in a news release.
This case may be the first of its kind in Cobb's history, police said.
