Waffle House Mayhem: Teens, Workers Feud During Uproar, Cops Say

Cobb Police say during a dispute between teens and Waffle House workers, someone was put into a headlock and hit multiple times.

MARIETTA, GA — Police say they are working to identify a group of teenagers accused of causing a disturbance at a Sandy Plains Road Waffle House recently.

The incident happened in the overnight hours of Sunday, when police said they responded to a fight in progress.

Witnesses told officers the teenagers refused to leave the popular restaurant after they had been asked several times, police said.

The group began to argue with staff members, knock down plates from the counter and jump over the service area and into the kitchen, police said.

One person was put into a headlock and hit multiple times in the head, police said. Several patrons tried to intervene in the melee.

ATL Uncensored, an Atlanta-based Facebook page, shared a 57-second video clip that appears to show an uproar at the Waffle House.

Police said social media video of the dispute alleges the teenagers attended Sprayberry High School’s homecoming game; but, police said the game occurred Friday night while the incident took place early Sunday morning.

"At this time, no direct connection that these suspects are current or former Sprayberry High School students has been confirmed," police said in a news release.
