  1. Cobb County Animal Services will be holding its Yappy Hours Pet Adoption Event on Monday, Aug. 21 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at 1060 Al Bishop Drive. Select pets will be available for adoption with no fee. This family-friendly event will be full of pets ready to meet their new forever families. To learn more, click here or call 770-499-4136.   2. Today, Aug. 12, there will be a Movie Night at Tumlin Park. The fun will begin at 7:00 p.m. with games, music, and free ice cream (while supplies last).   3. Down the road in Smyrna, a Kroger was found to have a rat infestation during an inspection by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. Inspectors reported finding rat droppings, products that had been chewed, and the smell of urine. A former employee said she quit after allegedly seeing a rat jump on a coworker. A spokesperson for Kroger said that the contaminated products have been destroyed and that an exterminator has been hired for the Smyrna location. (WSB Radio)
