Downtown Norcross "Tickled Pink" to Support Breast Cancer Patients, Advocacy
The special fundraiser to support breast cancer patients takes place Oct. 14-20.

Local business owners in Downtown Historic Norcross are rallying to support local breast cancer patients with a fundraiser called βTickled Pink.β
From October 14 through October 20, participating shops and restaurants in Norcrossβ historic commercial district will donate a healthy portion of their sales to Northside Hospital Foundationβs Patient Advocate Group.
The Foundation is part of Northside Hospitalβs Cancer Institute, one of the largest and most respected providers of comprehensive cancer services in the region. Its patient advocacy program supports local cancer patients by focusing on healing the whole person, both physically and emotionally.
βSometimes when you donate to a cause, it seems like the money just kind of disappears,β said Lorraine White, event organizer and owner of The Shops of Antique Traditions in Downtown Historic Norcross. βWe chose to support Northsideβs program because it directly benefits people who live in our community.β
Visitors to Downtown Historic Norcross are invited to explore locally-owned boutiques offering everything from contemporary home furnishings and accessories, to antiques, garden items, local art and trendy womenβs clothing. Shops and restaurants are housed in buildings well over 100 years old, with tree-lined streets creating a charming setting that has earned it recognition as βBest Downtown in Gwinnettβ (Gwinnett Magazine) for the past 5 consecutive years. The βTickled Pinkβ decal in windows identifies businesses that are taking part in this merchant-organized fundraiser.
βNorthside has a wonderful program with professionals committed to supporting individuals and families in our community who are facing cancer,β adds White. βNot everyone needs an excuse to shop, but if you do, this is a great one!β
