Funeral, Visitation Set for James Scarbrough

Scarbrough died Saturday in a two-vehicle wreck on Beaver Ruin and Indian Trail.

Friends and family will be able to say their last goodbyes to James Scarbrough, the while driving on a scooter off Beaver Ruin and Indian Trail.

The visitation will take place Monday, June 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at , located at 5051 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Peachtree Corners.

The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, also at Crowell Brothers. The burial will follow at on the same property.

Scarbrough died on scene during the Saturday wreck, said Norcross Police spokesman Capt. Brian Harr. He had been waiting on Indian Trail for a green light in order to turn left onto Beaver Ruin when a car ran through a red light and hit him.

Scarbrough was a city of Norcross resident for more than 45 years. He's a three-time retiree, including one from the military, and has been active on many city projects and organizations such as Sustainable Norcross and the Norcross Planning and Zoning Appeals Board.
