Happy Father’s Day To Ross Hubbard

"To say I am lucky to be his daughter is an understatement."

In celebration of Father's Day on Sunday June 17, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their father and let us deliver it. This is Sarah Hubbard's letter to her dad:

Sometimes it’s hard to put into words all the ways a dad can quietly make everything better in a matter of seconds, through a hug, a smile or four little words: “It will be ok.” Dads are nothing short of superheroes.

My dad, Ross Hubbard, is someone that I hold in the highest regards. I am his only child and a daughter at that, so our relationship is pretty darn special.

My dad taught me early in life that being a record setter was something to strive for daily. He taught me that the sky's the limit and that if I fail, he will be there to dust me off and put me back on the horse to try again. I’ve seen him set records and reach them. I’ve seen him make tough decisions for our family. I’ve seen him sacrifice endless hours on weekends for soccer tournaments, school programs, and now, time with his grandson, Grayson Ross. (It’s no coincidence my son is named after his grandfather). While doing all of these things, he made it look easy.

My dad is a gift. To say I am lucky to be his daughter is an understatement. Happy Father’s Day to you, Dad.

Xo,
Spud
