Lionheart Offers Variety of Summer Drama Camps

Traditional drama camps and specialty classes for all ages

Lionheart Theatre Company in Historic Norcross will offer a month of drama camps for ages 4-adult. Named "Best of Gwinnett," the camps are celebrating 10 years of providing fun, creative and low-cost theatre education to the Gwinnett community.

The theatre offers general drama camps that include basic acting lessons, games, and musical theatre.

This summer's specialty camps include:

* Tech Crew--Campers learn about set design, lighting, stagement and theatre management form professionals. The Crew then has the option of assisting a full camp show the following wee.

*Shakespeare 101--Have no fear of Shakespeare! This camp teaches simple steps to approach acting in a Shakespeare play.

*On Camera--Norcross is now one of Hollywood's favorite places to film! Learn the basics of acting on camera and get in on the action.

*Theatre Movement--It's not dance...it's learning how to effectively move your body on stage with intention and purpose to be a better actor. It answers the new actor's question, "What do I do with my hands?"

*Musical Theatre--Each classes learns to sing, dance and perform a number from a favorite musical. Anyone who wants a solo gets one! The troupe then performs at the Friday night talent shows. No experience necessary and so much fun.

*Beginner Tap--You don't even need tap shoes to learn the basic steps of tap and have fun. Students going into high school who can tap--even a little--will definitely get more parts! (We even have a few tap shoes lying around for you to borrow!)
