Multiple Car Break-Ins Reported at Malibu Grand Prix
Inside the Police Reports: Damage was seen on all the victims' car doors in the parking lot of the Norcross amusement park.
Despite its recent good news of starting construction on the new water park, Malibu Grand Prix had a string of entering autos reported last weekend.
According to Norcross Police reports, authorities were notified of three incidents Saturday, April 6, at the 5400 Brook Hollow Pkwy. establishment.
In the first entering auto report, a 38-year-old told authorities that he was in the park with his family when he received a text message alert about his truck's car alarm going off around 4:30 p.m.

While walking to his car, he noticed two men standing next to it. As soon as they saw him, they got into a tan Tahoe with a blue temporary tag and tinted windows and drove off.Β
The victim found his driver's door open with pry marks on it. The wires under the dashboard also were stripped, probably in an attempt to steal the car, noted the officer in the report. Nothing was reported taken.

The two other entering autos at Malibu that day echo similar stories. A 19-year-old woman went to her car around 6 p.m. and noticed her windows were down. She thought maybe she had done it herself and simply forgot, so she continued to drive home.
She later noticed damage done to the lock on the driver's door. The victim told police nothing was taken from her vehicle.
In the third report, the victim said she left the park at 5 p.m. and noticed her purse missing from her car when she arrived home. She had two credit cards, her social security card and her driver's license in the handbag.
The Norcross officer noted in the report that it appeared the culprits damaged the driver's side door in order to get to the purse.
In addition to the car break-ins, a theft reportedly occurred at Malibu on Friday, April 5. A teen told police that she lost her wallet around 7 p.m. She had placed it on top of her car in the parking lot and forgot to retrieve it before driving off. She went back to Malibu but couldn't find it.
