Netherworld May Be Leaving Norcross
The massively popular haunted house has filed to relocate to Stone Mountain.

NORCROSS, GA β Netherworld, the massively popular, seasonal haunted house that has called Norcross home for the past 20 years, may be on the move.
The company behind the haunt, Netherworld Haunted Attractions LLC, has filed a rezoning request for property that includes two warehouses in Stone Mountain.
The 9.5-acre property is at the intersection of Stone Mountain Highway and West Park Place Boulevard.

"The Applicant is proposing to renovate these two buildings in order to accommodate the new location of
Netherworld Haunted House," reads the application by Netherworld's lawyers.
The main building on the site already is zoned for an entertainment facility. But, Netherworld's lawyers write, since some activities would happen outside that building, they're applying to have the entire property zoned that way.

The rezoning request was filed on October 7.
Netherworld's management has declined media requests for interviews.
Founded in 1997, Netherworld is a self-guided haunted house filled with more than 100 actors, special effects and mechanical monsters.
It has consistently been named one of the nation's best haunted houses, including by publications such as USA Today, DreadCentral.com, Fangoria and AOL. In 2015, it was named the No. 1 Haunted House of All-Time by Halloween/haunted house industry website Hauntworld.
