Norcross Christmas Tree Lighting 2016 Set For Friday

The event gets started at 5:30 p.m. at Thrasher Park.

NORCROSS, GA β€” It's time to light the Christmas tree in Norcross.

The traditional lighting of the city tree is set for Friday, starting at 5:30 p.m.

The event will be held in Thrasher Park, at 93 Park Dr. in downtown Norcross.

It will feature music from the Norcross First United Methodist Church choir. Santa will be there in his workshop and will be available for photos.

There will be free hot cocoa and cookies, courtesy of the Norcross Masonic Lodge and the Norcross Lions Club.

Also, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Shrek the Halls" will be showing on the big screen.

There also will be a performance by the Salvation Army Brass Band to help kick off the organization's Red Kettle Bell campaign.
