Steve Martin’s absurd play comes to Lionheart
Picasso at the Au Lapin Agile opens March 8

Lionheart Theatre Company in Historic Norcross will invite audiences to a seedy Parisian café and unending laughter café in Steve Martin’s absurd comedy “Picasso at the Au Lapin Agile,” March 8 – 24.
The long-running off-Broadway comedy places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian cafe in 1904, just before the renowned scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the celebrated painter set the art world afire with cubism. The show is recommended for mature audiences.
“I’m thrilled to bring the zany and hilarious wit of this comedy legend, to the Lionheart Stage,” said the show’s director Scott King. “I hope to add my own spin on comedy while honoring Martin's genius, which will surely shine as audiences are able to see our amazingly talented cast of actors bring the play to life.”

The set of the play came together through a Norcross-based artistic collaboration. Lionheart set designer Tanya Moore recruited members of Norcross’ Kudzu Art Zone to provide dozens of original sketches and paintings to decorate the café walls.
