Unitarian Church Scrambling to Raise School Supplies for Alabama Storm Victims
The Briarcliff church is asking local residents to bring supplies to the school tomorrow evening.

The is rushing to collect school supplies for victims of the deadly tornadoes and storms that tore through Alabama last week.
I just got this email from the church. Their youth coordinator, Dana Poss, is from Ohatchee, AL, and will bring the materials to the town this weekend. Stop by tomorrow between 5pm and 8pm if you can. Here's an email from the church today:
Family and friends of our youth coordinator Dana Poss lost homes or sustained serious damage to their homes and other property as a result of the tornadoes and severe storms that swept through our region April 27. Her hometown of Ohatchee Alabama was hard hit.
Our thoughts and prayers are with them. The UUCA staff is sponsoring an emergency school supply collection for the victims of this disaster in partnership with a church there.
Pens, pencils, notebooks, and other items may be brought to the congregation TOMORROW (Wednesday) EVENING between 5 p.m. and 8 pm. There will be a box outside our religious education office. Dana will be taking what we have collected to Alabama this weekend.
The Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency has asked for donations of school supplies for Pleasant Valley, Piedmont and Ohatchee schools. Donations will be taken to Eagle Point Church, which has been designated a Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) by the Calhoun County EMA. Eagle Point is a satellite congregation of the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and both are working closely with the Salvation Army to distribute items to the communities affected by the disaster.
