Several films in the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival are showing at Lefont Sandy Springs Theaters.
The 20-day festival explores Jewish culture and history, and continues through Feb. 27.

“Little Rose”
A love triangle develops when a young woman agrees to try to disgrace a Jewish professor for the secret police.

“The Matchmaker”
A Romanian Holocaust survivor, who brings together lovelorn couples, takes 16-year-old Arik under his wing in Haifa. Arik literally encounters a carnival of characters as he comes to terms with post-Holocaust life.

Awards: Nominated for seven Israeli Phir Awards, including Best Picture.

“100 Voices: A Journey Home” [Documentary]
In June 2009, world-renowned canters performed in a series of concerts with the Polish National Opera and a 100-piece orchestra. The film includes clips of “cantors of yesteryear” and as well as modern-day “luminaries.”

“Maya”
An aspiring actress with little confidence becomes romantically involved with a manipulative director, who casts her as the lead in his play. By the play’s premiere, Maya is traumatized by her relationship, a friend’s personal crisis and her decision to check herself into a mental hospital to prepare for her role.

“The Trotsky”
A teen comedy about a “Jewish Geek” in Montreal who thinks he is Leon Trotsky, reincarnate. When he is transferred to a public school for organizing a hunger strike at his father’s business, the teen tries to unionize the student body.
