Act3 Productions’ Academy Announces Three Summer Youth Workshops

The workshops, overseen by Riverwood HS drama teacher Mary Beth Van der Hoek, are designed for a range of ages. Registration is now open.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA – Act3 Productions is pleased to announce that Riverwood High School Drama Instructor Mary Beth Van der Hoek is overseeing the theatre’s Summer Youth Workshops at the Act3 Playhouse in Sandy Springs. Registration is now open and spaces are expected to fill quickly: act3prod.org/classes. The three workshops are each tailored to the age of the participants, with a theatrical production open to the public concluding each session.

The workshop details are:

Jungle Jamboree, an introduction to musical theatre, will be offered June 3-14 for children ages 5-8. The workshop hours are 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and tuition is $350 per child. A Showcase closes the workshop Friday, June 14 at 1:30 p.m.

Roald Dahl’s WILLY WONKA KIDS workshop is designed for pre-teens ages 9-12. It will be offered June 17-28 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and tuition is $375 per student. Performances will be held Friday, June 28 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 29 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

FAME JR. workshop will be offered for teens ages 13-17 from July 8-19. Hours are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and tuition is $400. FAME JR. is Act3 Productions’ 2025 Junior Theatre Festival entry. The workshop ends with three performances: Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 21 at 3 p.m.

The intimate, 100-seat Act3 Playhouse is located in the heart of Sandy Springs in Sandy Springs Plaza at 6285R Roswell Road (enter through the breezeway next to Five Guys). Ample free parking is available, and the area offers patrons many fine restaurants for pre- or post-theater dining. In addition to the summer youth workshops, season ticket packages and group ticket discounts (10 or more attendees) are available. Single tickets range from $21 to $34 for musicals and $18 to $27 for plays and are available at www.act3prod.org or by calling the box office 770-241-1905.
