CAC Launches Gift Sponsorship Program for 1,600 Children in Need
CAC's Hope for the Holidays program helps donors in the community sponsor a family's children by providing gifts for the holidays.

The Community Assistance Center (CAC) is once again inviting individuals, groups, congregations, and corporations to make a difference in the lives of local children by purchasing holiday gifts for those who may not otherwise receive them. Through the “Hope for the Holidays” program, CAC continues its mission of connecting donors with registered families who lack the financial resources for holiday gifts. Last year, the program brightened the season for over 1,550 children, and this year CAC aims to serve more than 1,600.
“This is a season of giving and receiving,” shares Francis K. Horton, III, CEO of CAC. “Part of being a kid is looking forward to a surprise gift during the holiday season. ‘Hope for the Holidays’ allows both giver and receiver to take part in that joy this winter.”
Beyond its basic human needs programs—food, clothing, and financial assistance—CAC’s “Hope for the Holidays” program ensures every registered child in need experiences the excitement and joy of holiday gifts. Children and families currently enrolled in CAC’s programs complete wish lists, which are fulfilled by generous local donors. This year, CAC is actively seeking both donors and sponsorships to help fulfill those holiday wishes.

Donors can visit CAC’s “Hope for the Holidays” portal on the CAC website to support a specific family or contribute directly to the program. Options include direct donations or popular gift items like bicycles (with helmets), tablets, and gift cards to help fill gaps and ensure every child receives a special gift this holiday. Volunteers are also welcome to help with receiving, sorting, and distributing gifts.
“We have an incredible community that comes together each year at the holidays,” adds Horton. “The collective impact from the ‘Hope for the Holidays’ program on our community of children in need is meaningful and special. Whether your gifts are large or small, they are all important in fulfilling the wishes of more than 1,600 children through CAC’s ‘Hope for the Holidays.’”
