In December, Police Officer Larry Jacobs, Sandy Springs Crime Prevention Specialist explained that entering an auto can be a quick crime. The person breaks the window, reaches in and takes the item, he said.

Jacobs also emphasized that valuables should be removed from vehicles. Car thieves often walk up and down parking lot aisles looking inside cars for GPS navigation systems, cell phones, laptop computers and other attractive items.
