  1. The "Concerts by the Springs: Guardians of the Jukebox" event will take place on Aug. 6 at the Heritage Amphitheater Lawn. It is a nostalgic 80's music show and offers free lawn seating, but reserved table seating is available for purchase. The event allows blankets, low-backed chairs, and umbrellas, but no outside tables are permitted. Music begins at 7:00 p.m. and free parking is available. (Sandy Springs)
  2. On Aug. 19, the Sandy Springs Education Force will host an Electronics Recycling event at the North Springs High School parking lot in Sandy Springs. Donations of old electronics will be accepted for a minimum donation of $20 per car, and all data will be securely wiped from the items. The funds raised from this event will support various educational programs in schools, and the organization is also collecting new school supplies for donation. (Patch)
  3. On Jul. 27, a tragic head-on collision occurred on Fountain Road near Floyd Road in nearby Cobb County, resulting in the death of a 22-year-old Alpharetta man, Baraa Abdulmonem, who was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima. The collision was with a 2018 Nissan Maxima driven by 36-year-old Eugenia Lawrence, who failed to stay in her lane for reasons still unknown. Both drivers were taken to Wellstar Cobb Hospital, where Abdulmonem succumbed to his injuries, and Lawrence suffered minor injuries. The incident remains under investigation by the Cobb County Police Department. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
