Entering Auto Suspects Hit Motorcyclist During Police Chase: Cops
Dunwoody police say the 4 teens abandoned the stolen vehicle involved in the crash on I-285 near Ga. 400 in Sandy Springs.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Police are on the hunt for four teenagers accused of breaking into an SUV in a parking deck in Dunwoody and colliding with a motorcyclist during a police chase early Thursday morning.
Dunwoody officers were dispatched to an entering auto call around 2:47 a.m. Sept. 20 in the parking deck at Perimeter 31 Apartments at 31 Perimeter Center East. The caller told 911 dispatchers he saw four male teens break into an SUV parked inside the deck, Dunwoody police said in a news release. Dunwoody officers, along with their Sandy Springs police counterparts, converged on the area and begin looking for the subjects.
A Dunwoody officer later spotted a red 2012 Toyota Camry "traveling at a high rate of speed" at the intersection of Perimeter Center East and Ashford Dunwoody Road. The officer tried to catch up to the vehicle, which made a U-turn to travel southbound on Ashford Dunwoody Road towards Interstate 285. The cop tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the Camry continued on I-285 westbound and the officers lost sight of the car.

While entering the interstate, the Camry struck a motorcycle operator traveling westbound. The motorcyclist lost control and crashed. According to police, another vehicle traveling in the same direction struck the motorcycle. Dunwoody police said the motorcycle operator and the driver of the second vehicle were transported to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Toyota Camry, which had been entered into the state database as stolen from Clarkston, was found abandoned on I-285 near Ga. 400 in Sandy Springs. The subjects, who were not located, were all described as young black males between the ages of 13 and 16 years old.
