🌱 Fulton County School Safety Measures + Sandy Springs Pet Adoption

Here are the top stories today in Sandy Springs:

1. School districts throughout metro Atlanta are taking additional security measures to ensure that students, teachers, and parents feel some degree of safety in the wake of the mass shooting at a Texas elementary school. Residents in Fulton County, and across metro Atlanta neighborhoods, are on edge when it comes to sending their kids to school. Police patrols are being added to school campuses in many counties and towns. (WSB Atlanta)
2. If you are in the market for a new pet to bring home as an addition to the family, look no further. Shelters in Sandy Springs and in nearby towns have many animals available for adoption. On average, only about half of all shelter animals find themselves in a permanent home. (Sandy Springs Patch)
3. Nearby Dunwoody will kick off this year's summer movie series with a screening of "E.T." The recurring "Pics in the Park," event will open on June 3 at Pernoshal Park. Other screenings will include “Black Panther," and “Lilo & Stitch.” (Reporter Newspapers)
