SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Heritage Sandy Springs will host a fundraising concert featuring the world-renowned Atlanta Rhythm Section.
This concert will be held Sunday, Oct. 14 at the Sandy Springs Society Entertainment Lawn at 6110 Blue Stone Road. The Atlanta Rhythm Section is one of the top acts in country rock. Its original members came together playing as the house musicians at the famed Studio One, recording home to such country rock greats as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dicky Betts, and 38 Special.
Band members would play on other group’s albums three to four days a week and work on their own songs when they had time off. They were able to record their own album, which earned them a two-record deal with MCA/Decca. The band recorded and released two albums with MCA before moving to Polydor and its third album was released in 1974.

“I am very excited to bring a national act to Sandy Springs while enhancing awareness of our non-profit organization,” said Jeff Kushner, Heritage Sandy Springs board member. “Songs like ‘So Into You’, ‘Spooky’, ‘Champagne Jam’, ‘Imaginary Lover’, and ‘I’m Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight’ are part of the soundtrack to my high school days, and to have Atlanta Rhythm Section play our intimate venue is so exciting. Since the show was announced, I have had dozens of people reach out with similar stories about growing up listening to their hits. Being able to bring ARS here is awesome by itself, and the fact that is a fundraiser for Heritage Sandy Springs makes it that much more special.”
