  1. It seems that travel is becoming more popular among Georgians, with a significant increase in planned trips compared to previous years. Recent AAA survey results suggest that 87 percent of Georgians are planning to travel this year, which is a substantial increase from the 56 percent who planned to travel in 2022. This trend could indicate that people are feeling more comfortable traveling again after the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, AAA reports that 41 percent of Georgians are planning a spring break vacation, which is up from 30 percent last year. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. Martha Dalton has joined the newsroom of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution to cover Atlanta and Fulton County schools. Previously, Dalton worked as a senior education reporter at WABE, Atlanta's NPR affiliate, for almost 13 years, where she covered a range of topics, including immigration, politics, transportation, and education. Dalton, a former teacher, enjoys stories that bring her back to the classroom to engage with students and educators and is a certified K-12 reading specialist. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. Chief DeSimone and the Sandy Springs Police Department are hosting a drug awareness and prevention program on Mar. 29. This event will cover drug trends, the fentanyl crisis, and overdoses impacting the community. The free program will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El of Atlanta in Sandy Springs; all are welcome. (Sandy Springs Police via Facebook)
