3 Rescued, 18 Families Displaced In Sandy Springs Fire

The cause of the fire is unknown, and there were no injuries Wednesday.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Three people were rescued from balconies in a large fire that displaced at least 18 families early Wednesday afternoon at a Cedar Run apartment complex, Sandy Springs Police Sgt. Matthew McGinnis told Patch.

The fire started shortly before noon at the Azalea Park apartment complex and affected more than 20 units, he said. The cause of the fire is unknown, and there were no injuries.

Police shared an earlier video of the scene via Facebook, which showed flames coming through the roof of the building. Police warned people to steer clear of the area.
