- Superstar Mariah Carey has sold her Sandy Springs mansion for a loss after buying the home in November, 2021 for $5.65 million. The pending offer that takes the property off the market is for $4,995,000. Carey's 12,575 square-foot estate features nine bedrooms, nine full bathrooms, a recording studio, tennis courts, and a heated pool. The sale of her mansion comes about a year after it was targeted by burglars. The gang focused on robbing the homes of high-profile celebrities in the Metro Atlanta area. (WSB-TV)
- Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber's 11th annual "Rockin' The Runway" fashion show benefiting the Drake House will be happening on Tuesday, Jun.13 at 5:30 PM at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. The cost of a ticket gives you access to small plates from Sandy Springs top restaurants along with a drink ticket. The Drake House provides housing and enrichment programs for mothers and children dealing with homelessness in North Fulton County. - The Sandy Springs City Council has approved a $50.4 million renovation of an office building at 620 Morgan Falls Road to become the new police headquarters and municipal courthouse. Construction is slated to begin in June and the project is estimated to be completed by December, 2024. You can learn more about their programs that help Sandy Springs students prepare for a competitive world. There will be other area non-profit groups on hand as well. - The Sandy Springs Police Department wants to remind citizens that it is Gun Violence Awareness Month. This is especially true in regard to domestic violence.
