  1. An expansion to the Sandy Springs police headquarters and Municipal Court complex was recently approved by the city's Public Facilities Authority. The $50.3 million expansion will add more than 20,000 square feet to the existing property, adding new space for the courthouse and additional public safety services. Construction on the project is expected to break ground in July. (Appen Media)
  2. The Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center has named William "Bill" Haggett as its new executive director. Haggett will take over for Michael Paulin, who has served as the center's interim director since December 2022. Before coming to Sandy Springs, Haggett worked as the head of the Coral Springs Center for the Arts in Florida. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
  3. The Fulton County school board has approved a new $2.1 billion budget. The revised budget includes additional funds to recruit and retain employees and improve school safety.
