Students, Driver Safe After Bus Hits Light Pole

A Sandy Springs officer said a school bus driver had a medical complication with a couple of students still inside of the bus Tuesday.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — There were no injuries early Wednesday morning after a school bus with students inside hit a light pole near Ga. 400 at North Ridge Road, according to Sandy Springs police.

Sgt. Matthew McGinnis, the department's public information officer, told Patch the bus driver had a medical complication that led to the crash and was taken to the hospital.

He said the bus "came to a rest against a light pole," but he confirmed it did not hit a ditch.

A couple of students were on the bus, but the bus wasn't full at the time, he said.

McGinnis confirmed everyone was safe.
