- Sandy Springs police attempted to serve an arrest warrant, which resulted in officers firing shots at the suspect wearing body armor. The incident occurred at an apartment along Santa Fe Parkway, and the suspect confronted officers with a gun before they fired back, hitting him in his body armor. The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment, while no officers were injured. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has taken over the investigation. (11 Alive)
- A potential UPS worker strike has been averted as Teamsters reached a historic tentative agreement with UPS in metro Atlanta. The agreement includes wage increases for both full-time and part-time workers, creating more full-time jobs, and implementing workplace protections. Existing full and part-time UPS Teamsters will receive significant wage increases, making them the highest-paid delivery drivers in the nation, and all UPS Teamsters will now have Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a full holiday. The agreement will be reviewed and voted on by the Teamster locals in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. (WSB-TV)
- A serious accident involving four vehicles and a tanker truck carrying nitric oxide has led to the closure of multiple lanes on I-285 eastbound near the Mount Vernon Bridge on Wednesday, as reported by Sandy Springs police.
