Portion Of Chattahoochee River Closed Due To Sewage Spill
The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper said extremely high levels of E. coli were found in samples from Morgan Falls Overlook Park.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A six-mile stretch of the Chattahoochee River that goes into Sandy Springs will be closed as of Friday due to a sewage spill near Willeo Creek Park in Roswell, according to the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper.
The closure will go from the Chattahoochee Nature Center to Johnson Ferry Road, officials said Friday.
The Riverkeeper said water quality tests showed Thursday afternoon extremely high levels of Escherichia coli, also known as E. coli, at Morgan Falls Overlook Park in Sandy Springs.

The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area issued a sectional closure to protect public health and safety, the Riverkeeper said.
It is unknown when the partial closure will end.
