Sandy Springs Private School CFO Faces Child Sex Crime Charges

The chief financial officer was arrested Thursday and accused of possessing child sexual abuse material.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The chief financial officer at The Mount Vernon School has been arrested and is facing two counts of sexual exploitation of children charges, Sandy Springs Police said Friday.

Police say Christopher James Winslow was arrested around 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Police did not say what led to the charges but accused Winslow of possessing child sexual abuse material.

"The SSPD is continuing to collaborate with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to identify any and all victims depicted," police said in a news release.

Mount Vernon was notified of the charges against Winslow Thursday morning, Dr. Brett Jacobsen, chief executive officer at the private school, said in a statement sent to Patch late Friday morning.

Jacobsen said police confirmed no students or other employees were involved in the case.

"This is devastating news for everyone, and we are committed to supporting law enforcement's investigation however we can," he said. "The safety and well-being of our students is our most important priority, and for that reason, Mr. Winslow will no longer be part of our school community moving forward."
