Sandy Springs Conservancy Spruces Up Library Reading Garden
Sandy Springs Library Reading Garden gets a Facelift courtesey of the Sandy Springs Conservancy
The Sandy Springs Conservancy has completed the first phase of the Sandy Springs Library Reading Garden enhancement project. The project included removing overgrown ivy, cleaning up an area of tree debris, grinding stumps, pruning bushes, edging walkways, raising sunken border bricks, spreading new slate on the labyrinth and paths, spreading wood chips in the wooded area and planting 200 daffodil bulbs. More plantings and work are planned for the fall.
The project was made possible by a $2,500 grant from The Sandy Springs Society plus a grant from the Sandy Springs Conservancy's Micro Project program and a donation from W Designs. SSC managed the project in coordination with the library and Fulton County.
SSC Micro Project grants are available for small greenspace/park enhancement projects in our community. Micro Projects are often determined and executed by a group or organization such as a scout troop, a neighborhood group or a business and include, trail enhancements, park plantings, butterfly gardens and more.
