Armed Suspect In Custody Amid Sandy Springs Shelter-In-Place Order
Officers told a media outlet that a man was accused of waving a gun at a child and someone else in Sandy Springs on Monday.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A suspect accused of being armed was taken into custody Monday after triggering a shelter-in-place order in Sandy Springs.
The man ran from the scene of a domestic incident in the area of Dumaine Trace, prompting a search, Sandy Springs Police told Patch. At the time, officers had been attempting to speak with him, police said.
While officers searched for the suspect, a shelter-in-place order was put into effect for residents in the area of Spalding Drive and Trowbridge Road.

Though police did not detail to Patch the nature of the incident, on-scene officers told 11Alive the man was accused of waving a gun at a child and one other person.
It was not immediately known if the shelter-in-place order had been lifted.
