Suspect Charged After Nearly Crashing Into Sandy Springs Officer's Car
The suspect then led police on a chase late Thursday night, police said.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A person police say almost crashed into a police officer's car and led a police chase late Thursday night is facing charges, Sandy Springs Police said Friday.
A Sandy Springs officer was driving his police cruiser around 11:30 p.m., when he was almost hit by a black Lamborghini SUV police say was driving recklessly.
When the officer tried to stop the SUV, it sped towards Peachtree Dunwoody Road, police said.

A be on the lookout was sent to Brookhaven and Atlanta police departments; and shortly after, Atlanta Police alerted the SUV had crashed on Peachtree Road, east of Peachtree Dunwoody, police said.
The driver ran, but Sandy Springs officers found the driver and arrested him, police said.

The driver, who police did not identify, is charged on suspicion of fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, revoked license and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, police said.
