Woman Charged In Fatal Fentanyl Overdose In Sandy Springs

Sandy Springs Police said a woman bought fentanyl-laced pills, which led to her death.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A Cumming woman was arrested last week after being accused of selling fentanyl-laced pills to another woman, killing her, Sandy Springs Police said Monday.

Police said Makayla Peacock was found unconscious at a home on June 6. Police did not say where the home was located. Attempts to save Peacock's life were unsuccessful, police said.

A toxicology report indicated Peacock overdosed after taking fentanyl-laced pills, which she bought from Mallery James, police said.
